The Course In the ongoing drive to improve schools, the role of the middle leader has become very high profile, and the impetus is on you to deliver success. The course aims to help middle leaders, both subject-based and pastoral, to develop the skills that are essential to be effective and successful. The course is also ideally suited to enthusiastic teachers aiming for middle leadership.

Develop a clearer understanding of what successful leadership entails, roles and responsibilities, and how to deliver what is required. Examine the factors that are essential for successful middle leadership, leadership skills and styles. Identify the characteristics of the most effective leaders within schools so that you can identify your own strengths and weaknesses and devise a personal development strategy. Consider how to influence others and gain the support and co-operation of colleagues, especially when presenting new ideas and initiating change. The course uses a case study approach to provide practical suggestions and guidance.
